Hunter James Kelly Research Institute

Judson's Legacy is committed to funding research for Krabbe and other leukodystrophy diseases, particularly by supporting the Hunter James Kelly Research Institute (HJKRI), a collaboration between the Univeristy of Buffalo and Hunter's Hope Foundation.  HJKRI is commited to providing a multidisciplinary clinical and basic science approach to specifically research Krabbe disease and other leukodystrophies.  This integrated method of research promises significant advancements toward prevention, treatment and more developed clinical care for Krabbe Kids and others.

"I show Jud's video all the time to doctors and researchers.  It has such an incredible impact!  I call the later onset form of Krabbe... Judson's disease.  I wouldn’t be surprised if one day it is known as such."

Dr. Patti Duffner
Founding Clinical Director, HJKRI
